MADISON, Wis. — Shining a light on their work in the classroom, an outstanding 124 student-athletes from the University of Wisconsin fall sports teams were named to the 2022-23 Academic All-Big Ten team, as announced by the Big Ten on Friday. Football led the list with 51 honorees, while women’s cross country had 21 recipients and men’s cross country collected 11. Volleyball earned nine honors, while women’s soccer garnered 19 and men’s soccer had 13 Badgers earn spots on the academic honor team.
The Big Ten Conference recognized a total of 1,619 students on fall sports rosters who have been named to the Academic All-Big Ten Team.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be on a varsity team, as verified by being on the official squad list as of Nov. 1 for fall sports, have been enrolled full-time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
Leading their fellow Badgers in the classroom, six Wisconsin student-athletes all maintained perfect 4.0 grade-point averages (bolded in the team lists below):
