INDIANAPOLIS — The No. 15 Lewis University women’s volleyball team recorded their third straight Great Lakes Valley Conference sweep as the Flyers defeated the University of Indianapolis 3-0, at Ruth Lilly Fitness Center on Friday (Sept. 22)

SET BREAKDOWN
FIRST SET: No. 15 Lewis 25, Indianapolis 13
- Both teams scored two points a piece then Lewis rallied for four points in a row capped off by a kill by Ray which made it 6-2.
- Indianapolis made a 5-1 rally to tie the first set at 7-all.
- The Flyers then went on a 7-1 run capped off by a service ace by Schlechte to give Lewis a 15-8 lead.
- The Greyhounds cut it down to five (15-10) but that was the closest they got as the Flyers scored six straight which was finished off by back-to-back service aces by Zeiser.
- Lewis ended up winning the first set 25-13 after a block by Ray.
SECOND SET: No. 15 Lewis 25, Indianapolis 19
- Both teams scored four points each early on before Lewis scored four in a row to grab an 8-5 advantage.
- The Flyers had a 11-9 lead before scoring four more in a row capped off by a kill by Stefanski which made it 15-9.
- Indianapolis cut it down to 16-14 but that was the closest the Greyhounds got in the set with the Flyers rallying to take the second set 25-19.
THIRD SET: No. 15 Lewis 25, Indianapolis 23
- The third set was the closest set all night with both teams trading rallies and leads.
- Lewis grabbed a 18-12 lead late in the third set after a block by Stenman and Ray.
- Indianapolis did not give up as the Greyhounds scored the next eight out of nine points to tie the set at 19-all.
- Both teams traded the next few points to make it 22-22.
- Lewis would end up scoring the next three out of four points and won the third set 25-23 after a kill by Stefanski.
Final Score: No. 15 Lewis 3, Indianapolis 0
