#19 Utah Volleyball Returns Home to Close Out the Regular Season Against West Virginia and Cincinnati


MATCH WEEK
The 19th-ranked Utah Utes return home to the Jon M. Huntsman Center on Thursday, Nov. 21, hosting the West Virginia Mountaineers at 7 p.m. MT. The Utes return to action on Sunday, Nov. 24, celebrating Senior Day at 12 p.m. MT, hosting the University of Cincinnati Bearcats. 

Utah fans can tune in to ESPN+ on Thursday and Sunday to catch both matches this week. On the broadcast for Thursday’s match will be Krista Blunk (PxP) and Victoria Dennis (analyst). Sunday’s match against Cincinnati will be covered by Jim Watson (PxP) and Victoria Dennis (analyst). 

QUICK HITS

• The Utes move up to #19 in week 12 of the most recent AVCA top 25 poll. Utah won both matches a week ago, defeating Houston (3-0) from the road, and coming up with their first reverse sweep since 2022, taking down UCF in dramatic fashion, 3-2. 

 • Utah returned to the top 25 in the week seven poll this season. This marks the first time since coming in at 22nd in the preseason of the 2022 poll. The Utes crack the top 20 for the first time since closing out the final poll of the 2021 season at #18. 

• The Utes spent three weeks in the receiving votes category, before cracking the top 25 in week seven at #20. Wk. 8 – #21, Wk. 9 – #22, Wk. 10 – #23, Wk. 11 – 20. 

• As a team, Utah has averaged 14.0 kills per set with 12.9 assists per set. From the service line, the Utes are averaging 1.6 aces per set. On the defensive side of the net, Utah is posting 15.4 digs per set with 2.3 blocks per set.

• With the win over BYU, Utah secured the 900th win in program history while setting a new attendance record (5,953) at the Jon M. Huntsman Center.

• West Virginia and Utah will meet on the court for the first time ever and for the first time as Big 12 conference foes. 

• Utah faces Cincinnati for the third time in program history, owning a 2-0 lead in the series. The Utes have defeated the Bearcats once in Salt Lake City, closing out the 2009 Utah Classic with a 3-2 win. 

• Utah’s most recent win (3-0) over Cincinnati came on neutral ground during the 2017 season opener at the Bluegrass Battle in Lexington, Kentucky.
