HARRISONBURG, Va. – Before their seasons start, the EMU Athletic Communications Department will be previewing all four of our winter teams. Our final winter sports installment is a preview of the EMU men’s volleyball team.

Preseason CVC Poll – Picked to finish 9th (10 points)
Season Opener – Friday, January 13 vs Geneva College @Wittenberg University

First Home Match – Saturday, January 28 vs Penn St.-Altoona @ 12 pm
Key Losses – Jacob Durren
Key Returners – Ben Childers, Nate McGhee, Tyler Oaks, David Ward
Outlook – EMU comes into the season with a wealth of experience on the court and a new face on the sidelines. New head coach Omar Hoyos comes to EMU from Florida and brings a great volleyball pedigree to the Royals. EMU returns a plethora of talent to the court, including McGhee, who was seventh in the CVC with 3.18 kills/set. Oaks was a top-10 setter as well, finishing ninth with 4.15 assists/set.
