2023 NC beach volleyball championship: Selections, schedule, how to watch

Ohio State prevents Penn State volleyball comeback, winning in five sets

Selections for the 2023 NCAA beach volleyball will be announced at 11 a.m. ET on Sunday, April 30, in a video stream and press release here on NCAA.com.

The championship is May 5-7 at Gulf Shores Public Beach in Gulf Shores, Ala. and will feature a new 16-team format with play-in. You can get more information here, including tickets and the venue.

Here’s the schedule for the 2023 DI women’s team championship in Gulf Shores (all times Eastern):

  • Friday, May 5: Round of 16
  • Saturday, May 6: Quarterfinals; Semifinals
  • Sunday, May 7: National Championship
     

Southern California is the defending champion, winning its fourth title in 2022.

Beach volleyball championship format to change in 2023

The Division I Competition Oversight Committee, during a virtual call Wednesday, approved a change to make the National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship a 16-team, single-elimination event, starting in 2023.
