Burns promoted from assistant to head coach at Rockford

Unbeaten two-time defending champion Juniata is still the top team in the AVCA Week 4 poll.

Following the Eagles and their 72-match winning streak — third longest in NCAA history — are No. 2 Wisconsin-Oshkosh, No. 3 Wisconsin-Whitewater, No. 4 Hope and No. 5 Johns Hopkins.

Rounding out the Week 4 top 10 are No. 6, MIT, No. 7 Emory, No. 8 Washington-St. Louis, No. 9 La Verne and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. MIT, one of six remaining undefeated DIII teams this season, garnered one of the 86 first-place votes while Juniata received the other 85.

Other Region VIII/IX programs in the Week 4 top 25: No. 11 Millikin; No. 12 Northwestern; No. 15 North Park; No. 17 Gustavus Adolphus; No. 25 Transylvania.

My Week 4 top 10 check in poll had No. 8 Millikin and No. 10 Southwestern instead of the AVCA’s selections of La Verne and CMS.
