BOULDER, Colo. – The 23rd-ranked Utah Volleyball team traveled to Colorado, taking down the Buffaloes, 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-17, 25-17). The Utes have now defeated the Buffs in three consecutive matches, playing four or more sets in each of the past five meetings.
Utah found themselves trailing the Buffs early, as Colorado doubled up the Utes at the midway point, 12-6. Emrie Satuala provided a kill and a big defensive stop to help spark some momentum, helping Utah climb back to within four, trailing 12-8. Sending Rianne Vos back to the service line, Utah put together a six-point run, bringing the set back to even at 16-16. The Utes found their first lead at 18-17, getting some separation from the Buffs at 20-18, coming off a Lauren Jardine kill and an Allie Olsen ace. Utah continued on to secure the first set with a 25-21 win.
The two sides were deadlocked at 9-9 through the early stages of the second set. Colorado put together a four-point rally and adding two more scores extending its lead to 15-11. Utah began to chip away at the Colorado advantage, posting a pair of three-point runs, taking their first lead of the set with a 20-19 advantage. Heading down the stretch, the two sides traded points as the score was tied 20-20 and 21-21, before the Buffs took the set, 25-23.
Utah bounced back in the third set, jumping out to an 8-2 lead through the first 10 points. Utah continued to double the Buffs score, leading Colorado 12-6. The…
