EAST PEORIA, Ill. — The No. 4 seed Lewis women’s volleyball team defeated No. 5 seed Missouri S&T, 3-2, in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Quarterfinals, with a balanced team effort at Eastside Centre Thursday.

FIRST SET: Missouri S&T 25, Lewis 22
- Both teams went back and forth to start the first set then Van Loo recorded a kill to make it 12-9 Lewis.
- Missouri S&T rallied for four points in a row to grab a 13-12 lead.
- It would go back and forth before the Flyers jumped out to an 21-18 advantage after a service ace by Stenman.
- The Miners used a 7-1 rally to pull ahead and win the opening set.
SECOND SET: Lewis 25, Missouri S&T 19
- Lewis jumped out to an early 7-2 lead after a kill by Schlechte.
- Missouri S&T bounced back and cut it down to one (8-7 Lewis).
