A state of Wisconsin showdown was all that and more as the No. 6 Badgers held off visiting No. 24 Marquette on Saturday night. Wisconsin raised its 2021 NCAA championship banner and then had to rally from being eight points down in the third set to win the match 25-21, 23-25, 25-21, 25-21.
Third-ranked Louisville beat visiting No, 15 San Diego in four on a busy Friday in NCAA women’s volleyball with plenty more on tap Saturday.
Matches involving Big Ten teams include No. 8 Ohio State vs. No. 15 San Diego, top-ranked Nebraska vs. Ole Miss, Penn State at LSU, Iowa vs. No. 14 Washington and No. 19 Illinois at Colorado.
The Pac-12 slate includes No. 25 USC facing No. 16 Kentucky and No. 18 Oregon facing Rice. It’s a big day for the Wildcats, because Kentucky of the SEC also faces No. 17 Creighton of the Big East.
In the ACC, No. 10 Pittsburgh is at No. 7 BYU of the WCC and No. 5 Georgia Tech is home for Arizona State. Ninth-ranked Baylor of the Big 12 faces UC Santa Barbara.
