Xavier’s Kennedy Wade won her third Attacker of the Week award of the season.
RRAC selects volleyball players of the week for Sept. 25-Oct. 2

WACO, Texas — Kennedy Wade of Xavier University (La.) earned recognition as the RRAC Volleyball Attacker of the Week for Sept. 26-Oct. 2. Lauren Reynard of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) claimed the RRAC Setter of the Week award, and Xavier’s Linda Mungai collected another RRAC Defender of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the sixth set of conference awards for the 2022 volleyball season.
Wade compiled 42 kills and hit .369 in a 3-0 week for the Gold Nuggets. The junior outside hitter from Gainesville, Fla., led Xavier to its first ever 3-0 sweep over crosstown rival Loyola University (La.) with nine kills in the final set. Wade had a double-double in the match with 18 kills and 11 digs. She also had 15 kills in a victory over Jarvis Christian University (Texas). Wade leads the RRAC in kills per set (3.9) and total kills (192). Xavier rose to 8-0 in conference play and 13-2 overall.
Reynard delivered 52 assists as OLLU won both matches against Huston-Tillotson University (Texas) last week. The freshman setter from San Antonio, Texas, averaged 10.4 assists per set including 34 in a 3-0 sweep of HT on Saturday. Reynard is at the top of the list in RRAC assists with 455, more than 200 ahead of anyone else in the conference. OLLU climbed to 8-0 in the RRAC with an 11-4 mark on the season.
Mungai produced 44 digs, 11 assists and a service ace in Xavier’s 3-0 week. The junior libero from Busto Arsizio, Italy, helped limit opponents to .108 hitting across the three matches. Mungai contributed 12 digs and five assists in the win over Loyola. She leads the RRAC with 273 digs, and this is her fourth weekly award of the season.
