COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 6 Ohio State women’s volleyball team (17-5, 13-1 B1G) travels to No. 15 Purdue (18-6, 9-5 B1G) on Thursday evening for the teams’ lone meeting this season. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. in a match broadcast on B1G+.
- Ohio State was ranked sixth in this week’s AVCA poll.
- The Buckeyes the match with a 17-5 overall record and a 13-1 record in Big Ten play, which is tied for first in the conference.
- OSU earned the sweep (25-13, 25-18, 27-25) at Michigan State last Saturday.
- The Buckeyes continue to have a balanced attack with three averaging at least 3.00 kills/set apiece – Emily Londot (3.73), Gabby Gonzales (3.34) and Jenaisya Moore (3.08).
- Purdue enters the match with an 18-6 overall record and a 9-5 mark in Big Ten play, sitting fifth in the conference because of the three-way tie for first.
- The Boilermakers are riding a three-match win streak, all of which were won in four sets. Purdue most recently won (25-21, 25-15, 19-25, 25-20) at RV Michigan on Sunday.
- Purdue is 1-4 against ranked opponents this season, earning a sweep against (then) No. 8 Minnesota in the Big Ten opener.
- Freshman Eva Hudson is second in the Big Ten with 4.42 kills/set this season.
- Purdue holds the narrow 46-45 lead in the all-time series with Ohio State. The Buckeyes are 15-24 when facing the Boilermakers in West Lafayette.
- This is the lone meeting of the season between OSU and Purdue.
- Last season, each team won on its home court. The Boilermakers earned a five-set win (17-25, 25-19, 25-21, 22-25, 11-15) on Sept. 24, while the Buckeyes finished in four sets (25-23, 25-21, 19-25, 25-21) on Oct. 15.
