Borer earns ACC Freshman of the Week


GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the second time this season, freshman Hanna Borer has been named the Co-ACC Freshman of the Week. She earns the honor this week after leading the Hokies with 70 assists over the weekend.
 
Playing in seven sets, Borer averaged 10 assists per set on 188 total attempts. She also recorded four kills for the Hokies and assisted in three blocks over the weekend. Defensively, Borer’s 20 digs led the team.
 
Against Virginia, Borer led the team with 30 assists, adding four digs and a kill. She followed that up with another solid match against Wake Forest, recording 40 assists for the Hokies and 16 digs. Her 16 digs were two away from her career-high. The match against Wake Forest also marked her 12th double-double of the season, which is tied for third in the ACC.
 
Borer currently leads the Hokies with 616 assists and 6.77 per set. She also ranks ninth in the ACC over her 91 sets played. She also ranks second on the team with 214 digs and 2.18 digs per set.
