FIVB MOURNS PASSING OF RENOWNED SPORTS JOURNALIST AND NORCECA PRESS OFFICER ROOSEVELT COMARAZAMY

Thoughts of the Volleyball Family are with Roosevelt Comarazamy’s family and friends at this difficult time

The FIVB is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation’s (NORCECA’s) press officer and renowned sports journalist, Roosevelt Comarazamy, at the age of 74.

One of the most prominent journalists in the Dominican Republic, Roosevelt Comarazamy was elected into Dominican Sports Hall of Fame in 2019. He had served as NORCECA’s press officer since 2002, and also worked as the FIVB press delegate for various top level events, including the Olympic Games and World Championships.

In 2019, he became one of eleven communicators elected to receive the Abelardo Raidi Award granted by the Latin American chapter of the International Sports Press Association in recognition of his national and international career.

The FIVB and global Volleyball Family extends its deepest condolences to the NORCECA volleyball community and Roosevelt Comarazamy’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
