DURHAM – The Duke volleyball program and head coach Jolene Nagel announced the addition of three players to the 2023 squad as Lauren Ingram, Nikki Quinn and Grace Thrower will join the Blue Devils in the fall.
LAUREN INGRAM
Dallas, Texas | The Hockaday School | 6-1 Outside Hitter | Skyline Juniors
Lauren Ingram comes to Durham as a 6-1 outside hitter from Dallas, Texas where she attended The Hockaday School and competed for Skyline Juniors.
Most recently during her senior year, she was nominated captain by her teammates and led them to a second-place finish in the Southern Preparatory Conference State Championship. She was named a PrepVolleyball honorable mention All-America selection, an AVCA honorable mention All-American and was named to the All-Southern Preparatory Conference All-Team and All-Zone.
During her junior season, Ingram was selected as one of the AVCA’s “Best and Brightest” Award winners, which honors student-athletes who excel on and off the court. To be eligible, the student-athlete must have earned at least a 3.5 GPA and played in 50% of sets.
Off the volleyball court, Ingram excelled in the classroom and was elected by her peers to serve as the grade representative on her school’s Athletic Board. Her brother, Harrison, currently plays basketball at Stanford.
“Lauren is an outside hitter who has experience on both the left and right pins and we look for her to give us depth in both of those positions on arrival to Duke. Her ball control abilities will be an asset to our gym and she continues to get better every time we see her compete. We are looking forward to seeing her develop during her final club season and here at Duke. Lauren has loved Duke for a long time and we’re thrilled to add her passion to our program and welcome her family to ours.”
NIKKI QUINN
Del Mar, Calif. | Torrey Pines | 5-11 Setter | Coast Volleyball Club
Nikki Quinn joins Duke Volleyball to Durham as a 5-11 setter from Del Mar, California where she attends Torrey Pines high school and plays for Coast Volleyball Club.
During her senior season, Quinn was named to the California AVCA All-Region team and to the Durango All-Tournament team as a four-year varsity letterwinner.
