Four Bears Named All-Pac-12 - California Golden Bears Athletics

Cal’s Top Two Pairs Earn All-Conference Honors

BERKELEY – A record four Golden Bears from the No. 8 California beach volleyball team earned All-Pac-12 honors on the eve of the NCAA Championship, the conference announced Thursday afternoon. Senior Ainsley Radell, fifth-year senior Ashley Delgado, junior Liz Waters-Leiga, and sophomore Sierra Caffo all made the second team. This is the first all-conference honor for all four Bears.

Radell and Delgado’s selections come in their final year with the team and the two captains truly left their mark this season. As a pair the two have a 25-8 overall record with a 19-6 mark on court two. Their 25 wins ranks second in program history and their 29 career wins rank third. Radell is on the brink of history as an individual as she’s currently tied for the most wins in a season with 28 and ranks second with 81 in her career. Delgado, who transferred to Cal in 2022, has posted 46 career wins in just two seasons as a Bear and boasts a 25-8 record this season.

Waters-Leiga and Caffo both transferred in this season and made an immediate impact on the team working their way up to the everyday court one pair. This season they hold a 20-9 record with nine victories coming on court one, including the clinching win over No. 8 Stanford that sent the Bears to their first Pac-12 Championship final. Caffo holds a 24-10 record this season and Waters-Leiga sits at 21-9 as the team heads into tomorrow’s first round matchup with No. 9 Long Beach State.
