2023 ASIAN MEN’S CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP IN MANAMA IN FULL SWING AS JOINT MEETING HELD AHEAD OF MAY 14 KICKOFF

Manama, Bahrain, May 12, 2023 – The completed preparation tasks have made things clear that the 2023 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship is ready to burst into thrilling actions here between May 14 and 21, as Control and local organizers assembled in the meeting room to re-examine relevant activities ahead of the official kickoff coming Sunday.

Control Committee President and Technical Delegate Mr Emile Jabbour from Lebanon presided over the Joint Meeting at Asdal Gulf In Hotel here and discussed the preparation tasks. He appreciated contributions of all the local organizers for completely preparing everything, “Bahrain Volleyball Association is using Video Challenge System of the AVC for the first time to elevate the quality of the host country. BVA will be the host of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship and we can see that they are not only ready for the Asian Club Championship but also the World Championship now.” 

AVC Executive Director Mr Shanrit Wongprasert, himself AVC Coordinator in this top-flight championship, welcomed Control Committee Members, on behalf of AVC President Madam Rita Subowo, “This championship is very important because it is the Asian qualification tournament for the 2023 FIVB World Club Championship in December,” Mr Shanrit was quoted as saying in his speech.

    

FIVB has already announced that the 2023 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship will be staged between December 6 and 10, 2023 in India. 

  

He further added, “Many professional players from the other continents are playing for the Asian clubs that would add to the interest of this event. Matches in the second hall of Issa Bin Rashid Gymnasium will have live streaming through AVC YouTube, while the TV rightholders will play in the main competition hall to receive the uplink for their respective territory.”

   

BVA Finance Director Mr Habib Mohammed Abdulla welcomed Control Committee Members on behalf of BVA President, Sheikh Ali Bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, “We have been organizing many Asian and World events with success. Likewise, we will be organizing this event like those previous ones trying to make everyone feel happy like home.”

   

Referee Delegate Mr S. Beny Coonghe along with Referee Sub-Committee Mr Shahmiri have also reviewed the match protocols highlighting the guidelines that should be implemented before the match.
