The FIVB Coaches Course Beach Volleyball is now underway at FIVB Development Center in Bangkok, Thailand, with FIVB Course Instructor Mr David Smith directing the July 17-21 course aimed for enhancing learning by integrating theory and practice of beach volleyball aside from updating interesting trends of the sport.
A total of 16 candidates from four National Federations consisting of Hong Kong China, Macau China, United States of America and Thailand are actively taking part in this course, upbeat that learning the new trends of beach volleyball will help increase the importance of the beach volleyball coach role in the near future.
More importantly, with the staging of more FIVB and AVC beach volleyball events in recent years, it’s necessary that coaches need to learn development of this discipline of the game with the guidance and knowledge from the world’s volleyball-governing body.
The opening ceremony of the FIVB Coaches Course Beach Volleyball was held on Monday at the FIVB DC in Bangkok, with Thailand Volleyball Association President Mr Somporn Chaibangyang and Mr Shanrit Wongprasert, Honorary Life Vice President and Executive Director of Asian Volleyball Confederation, jointly presiding.
Also in attendance were FIVB Development Center Thailand Director Mr Chai Nimakorn, Mr Issara Riddhisinha, FIVB DC Thailand General Manager, FIVB Course Instructor Mr David Smith, who had a wealth of experience in teaching and coaching volleyball and beach volleyball, AVC Development Coordinator Ms Mingkwan Pusiddusid and all candidates.
TVA President Mr Somporn delivered a welcome speech, thanked all supporting parties which made the course happen and hoped that the participants can acquire knowledge and after this course, those with years of experience can benefit from the updated training in their field to help develop and promote volleyball and beach volleyball in their countries.
“During the course, it is always a good opportunity for all participants from different countries to exchange their skills and experience and I hope that it will be the same here in this course. I’m confident that all of you will enjoy the course and the cordial friendship which alway come up when you are working together or studying the same thing in the same course,” Mr Somporn was quoted as saying in his speech.
