COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Former Washington State volleyball middle blocker Taylor Mims, a two-time first team All-Pac-12 honoree during her time on the Palouse, was named to the Team USA roster as an opposite hitter for the upcoming 2023 Pan American Cup (Aug. 6-13) in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
Pool play for Team USA will begin on Sunday, Aug. 6, against Costa Rica at 11 a.m. (PST). The United State will also see Peru, Colombia, and Canada during pool play. Team USA has won seven Pan American Cup titles including their most recent in 2019.
Mims was a third team AVCA All-American selection as a student-athlete after her senior year in 2018 and has represented Team USA with collegiate national team selections in both 2017 and 2018. Since graduating from Washington State, she has continued her playing career professionally in both Spain and France, recently signing an extension with Neptunes de Nantes of the French Ligue A after she posted 43 blocks and 32 aces in 30 matches last season.
