Ndiaye Selected UCLA Student-Athlete of Week, presented by Ready

Outside hitter Iman Ndiaye of the UCLA women’s volleyball team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for Aug. 28-Sept. 3.

Ndiaye, a senior from Dallas, Texas, led the now 4-1 Bruins with 40 kills (3.64 KPS) in three victories last week. She was UCLA’s leading point scorer at Northwestern State with 15.0 points, and again at Long Beach State with a team-high 19.5 points. With her 19.5 points in that match, she has recorded two of the three highest single-match point totals in her career in UCLA’s first five matches this season. Against the Beach, she came two blocks shy of tying her career high of 10. She helped UCLA to 19.0 total team blocks in that match, which was its third-highest blocking output in a single match across the last seven seasons. In addition to her blocking numbers, Ndiaye has been stellar in the back row this season. Her nine digs versus Indiana were the second most in a single match in her career. She set her career high in digs last week at LSU with 10.

This is Ndiaye’s first UCLA student-athlete of the week award of the season and her career.
