The Bruins (6-1), who handed the Flames (7-1) their first loss of the season, are now riding a six-match winning streak.

Set scores tonight were 28-26, 25-18 and 25-20.

Outside hitter Iman Ndiaye added 11 kills at a .348 clip. The Plano West High School product was magical late in set one and helped steer the momentum in UCLA’s favor for the rest of the match.

Liberty had set point on the service line in set one, 24-22, before the Bruins made their move. Libero Peyton Dueck laid out to her right side for an impressive, one-handed dig to keep the play alive which resulted in a kill for Ndiaye to cut the deficit to one. A tip by Cheridyn Leverette knotted up set one, 24-24, for the first time since 19-19.

Once again facing a Flames’ set point, Ndiaye came through with a huge slam on an assist from Pak to make it 25-25. Lane met with Ndiaye at the net for another block at the 18-14 mark.

Leverette helped close out set two with two kills and an ace for three of UCLA’s final five points. Olson clashed at the net for set point, earning her fifth kill of the set on a joust.
