NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. – A Friday night road trip to Worcester ended in defeat for the Warriors as they fell in four sets to Holy Cross.Â

This match would start with a bang as the teams traded points for the first set. It took 30 points to find a winner which included the Warriors capitalizing on two attacking errors in a row to complete it and earn a set one win.
After capturing the first set, the Warriors would look to take a commanding 2-0 lead which they were on pace to do. After rattling off 4 points straight in the middle of the set they took a 10-7 advantage. However, the Crusaders had an answer and would continue to strike back and ended up finishing set 2 with 4 consecutive points to win 25-19 and even the match at 1.Â
Set number three was similar as they battled back and forth but Merrimack could not match the attack of Holy Cross dropping the set once again, 25-19.
In set four, which would end up being the final set of the match, it was not particularly close as the Warriors ran out of steam and were trounced by a blistering surge from Holy Cross. Merrimack would end up dropping set four, 25-11 and fall to 1-6 on the year.Â
