EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 8 Oregon volleyball team plays host to the Bay Area teams at Matthew Knight Arena beginning Friday against Cal. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Pac-12 Oregon. The Ducks’ top-10 matchup against third-ranked Stanford will play out Sunday at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN. Oregon enters the weekend with a 16-3 record including a 6-2 mark in Pac-12 play.

Series Info vs California
Oregon has won 16 of the past 17 meetings against Cal including six consecutive. The Ducks have won 14 of those 16 by way of a sweep. Prior to the recent trend of the series, the team had won just 17 matches in the first 71 meetings. Cal leads the all-time series, 55-33.
Series Info vs Stanford
Oregon has won the past three head-to-head meetings with Stanford, the program’s longest winning streak in the all-time series. Five of the program’s seven wins versus Stanford have come on the Ducks’ home floor. The Cardinal lead the all-time series, 68-7. The teams last met as top-10 opponents on Nov. 4, 2012, in Eugene.

Oregon leads the Pac-12 and ranks seventh in the nation with 2.88 blocks per set, a figure that is up to 3.15 blocks per set in conference play. The Ducks have 10 or more team blocks in 11 matches including a season-high 14.0 on three occasions.

Senior Karson Bacon enters Friday’s match against California with 432 career blocks, 16 shy of fifth place on the program’s all-time list. Bacon has nine matches this season with six or more blocks and currently ranks third in the Pac-12 with 1.39 blocks per set.
