Volleyball Falls in Three Sets to Mississippi State Friday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama volleyball fell in three sets to Mississippi State Friday night in Foster Auditorium by set scores of 20-25, 22-25 and 17-25.

Alabama (10-11, 0-10 SEC) fell by five in the opening set to Mississippi State (11-9, 4-6 SEC) before the two traded the lead five times in the second set as a kill from Kendyl Reaugh made it 20-19 Crimson Tide. The Bulldogs led 23-21 and, after an Alabama timeout, a Mississippi State attack error made it a one-point game, but the visitors rattled off back-to-back points to take the three-point win. The Bulldogs carried the momentum into set three, overcoming an early 2-1 deficit to take the lead at 4-3 and hold it the rest of the way en route to a 25-17 decision to complete the sweep.

“There were some good things that happened in the match but there were still a lot of unforced errors. We were fighting hard and our middles were very effective but you can’t rely on just one position. Everybody has to pull their weight. I felt like it was and up-and-down performance all night.”
