Utah Volleyball Drops Four Set Clash With USC

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Volleyball closed out a four-game home stand with a loss against USC on Sunday afternoon (25-21, 20-25, 24-26, 21-25). The Utes had three players with double-digit kills and seven different Utes collected at least one block.
 
Utah shined at the net defensively as the Utes tallied their most blocks since racking up 18 against Cal Poly on Aug. 31, 2019. Emrie Sataula was a brick wall at the net as she totaled eight blocks, including two solo blocks. Allie Olsen added seven blocks of her own and Viktoria Wahlgren contributed five to tie her career high. Both Kamryn Gibadlo and Amelia Van Der Werff tallied four blocks of their own. Wahlgren ran the Utah offense as she piled up 46 assists against the Trojans, tying the second-most of her career.
 
Lauren Jardine led Utah offensively with 14 kills, the most since racking up 17 kills against Cal earlier this season. Gibadlo led the team with a .333 hitting percentage and contributed 13 of her own kills to add her 13th match with at least ten kills this season. The freshman recorded 24 total kills this weekend against both UCLA and USC. Satuala continued her strong season, capturing her seventh match of at least ten kills over the last eleven matches. Satuala added 11 kills in 25 total attempts. Vanessa Ramirez and Kamry Bailey led the back row as they recorded 14 digs and 12 digs respectively.
