Women’s Volleyball Announces 2024 Signing Class


LOS ANGELES – The UCLA women’s volleyball program has received two signed National Letters of Intent (NLI) from Zoë Humphrey and Kiarrah “Kiki” Horne, as announced Wednesday by head coach Alfee Reft.
 
Humphrey, at 6-foot, 2-inches, is one of the most talented middle blockers out of Texas, earning AVCA High School First Team All-American acclaim her senior year at St. Pius X. In 25 matches played this season, Humphrey averaged 3.6 kills per set, 2.3 blocks per set and 1.4 digs per set.
 
The Houston, Texas native has participated in USA Volleyball’s National Team Development Program in Anaheim, Calif. in each of the last three years since its inception in 2021.
 
“Our Bruin Family is happy to welcome Zoe to Westwood,” Reft said. “Zoe has been at the top of her class as a middle, both representing her Houston Juniors Club Team as well as representing her age group in a number of our National Team Development Programs with USA Volleyball. We are excited to integrate her into our systems and build upon her athleticism and speed to add more depth to our list of middles for next season. Aside from her physical potential on the court, we know that Zoe will bring her great work ethic and big heart to our program and will continue to raise the bar for what is possible for UCLA women’s volleyball.”
 
She earned Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) First Team All-District and Second Team All-State honors her junior year in 2022 with averages of 3.1 kills per set and 2.9 blocks per set in 22 matches played. That season, Humphrey averaged 3.1 kills per set and 2.9 blocks per set in 22 matches played. Humphrey competed for head coach and Penn State alumna Clare (Powers) Brockman while attending St. Pius X.
 
Humphrey played 28 match her freshman season in 2020 at Klein High School where she was a District 15-6A champion and reached the state final. She competed in the Houston Juniors Volleyball Club system the last six years under coach Jeff Hamm.
 
Horne was named the 2022 Gatorade North Carolina Player of the Year for Volleyball her junior season. That year, she led Millbrook High School to a 29-1 record and the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) 4A state championship.
