Duke Hits the Road to No. 5 Louisville


DURHAM – The Duke volleyball team travels to Louisville, Ky., to take on the fifth-ranked Cardinals Friday. Opening serve is set for 7 p.m., on ACCNX.

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE SERIES

Duke and Louisville meet for the 19th time in program history as the Cardinals lead the all-time series, 12-6.  Louisville has won 10 of the last 12 matchups, including the last nine. The Blue Devils’ last win over the Cardinals in Louisville was Oct. 2, 2016 with a 3-0 sweep.
The two teams previously met Oct. 8 in Durham as Louisville secured a 3-0 sweep.

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS

Louisville enters Friday’s contest 21-3 overall and 12-2 in conference play, having lost at No. 11 Georgia Tech (3-1) last weekend. The Cardinals feature five players with 100-or-more kills and are led by Anna DeBeer with 281 while Cara Cresse is hitting .441 percent this fall to rank sixth nationally. Setter Elle Glock leads the way with 822 assists while libero Elena Scott owns 380 digs for 4.47 digs/set. Phekran pk Kong leads the blocking contingent with 77.0 total blocks. This fall, Louisville is hitting .283 percent to rank 14th nationally.

NEXT MATCH

Duke travels to Virginia Friday, Nov. 17 before hosting Clemson Sunday, Nov. 19. The match against the Tigers will serve as Senior Day.
