Panthers Earn No. 1 Seed in NCAA Tournament, Host Coppin State on Friday

PITTSBURGH –The No. 3 University of Pittsburgh volleyball team (25-4, 16-2 ACC) is set to compete as a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years. The Panthers will play Coppin State in the first round this Friday at the Petersen Events Center. Should Pitt continue winning, the Panthers will host all the way up to the Final Four.

This is the eighth straight season the Panthers have earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament, coming off three straight Elite Eights and back-to-back Final Fours. Last season Pitt hosted the first two rounds before being sent to Madison, Wisconsin, beating Florida in the Sweet 16 and upsetting the Badgers in the Elite Eight. The Panthers ultimately lost to Louisville in the Final Four in Columbus.
