Monks, Babcock Notch Final ACC Weekly Honors


PITTSBURGHEmma Monks and Olivia Babcock earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week and ACC Freshman of the Week honors, respectively, announced on Monday afternoon. This is the second career weekly award for Monks and seventh for Babcock.

Monks averaged 1.67 blocks per set and 1.5 kills per set, hitting .429 in the final week of conference play. She recorded seven blocks and five kills in the sweep over Miami and followed that up with four kills and three blocks in the 3-0 win at Syracuse.

Babcock put up strong numbers once again, averaging 5.75 points per set, 4.0 kills per set and 1.33 aces per set. She recorded a match-high 15 kills on a .520 clip against Miami while adding six digs, three blocks and three aces. Against Syracuse, Babcock notched nine kills, six digs, a career-high five aces and two blocks.
