KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Three more Lady Vols received All-America recognition, while three members of the Tennessee coaching staff were tabbed to VolleyballMag.com’s College Coaches Hotshots list.
The organization named right side Morgahn Fingall (first team), outside hitter Jenaisya Moore (third team) and setter Caroline Kerr (fourth team) to the All-America list. All three Lady Vols also garnered All-America status from the AVCA following the conclusion of UT’s historic 2023 campaign.
On the coaches hotshot list, all three members (Tyler Adams, Kelsey Campeau, Gavin Watt) of head coach Eve Rackham Watt‘s staff were recognized as some of the top up-and-coming individuals in the industry. It was the first time the list had been put out since 2019, and the Tennessee trio were added thanks to their efforts on the court during their young careers.
Adams has been part of 11 NCAA tournament appearances as an assistant coach and associate head coach, and he’s led the defensive charge for two nationally ranked programs. He serves as the Vols’ defensive coordinator and consistently has teams that rank inside the top three in blocks per set in their conference.
Watt has been a part of the rebuild of Tennessee volleyball and has been in charge of the offense since arriving on Rocky Top. The Vols have ranked near the top of the country statistically in offensive categories, and he’s trained multiple all-conference setters. He’s also spearheaded the program’s recruiting.
Campeau “has one of the brightest futures of any young coach that I’ve seen, and it’s because of her dedication to this sport, her drive to be a great learner and an abundance of experience and knowledge having been a player,” Rackham Watt said. “She’s embraced being a young coach and works really hard with our players, and she’s willing to put in the extra hours and do additional field study to grow as a coach.”
Fingall, the 2023 AVCA Southeast Region Player of the Year and SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, finished with 457 kills on .321 hitting, 193 digs, 84 blocks and 30 aces to lead the Lady Vols to one of their best seasons in program history. She ranked second in the SEC in kills per set (4.31), third in points per set (5.00) and ninth in hitting percentage. Fingall led the conference with 4.38 kills per set during league play, and she ranked inside the top 20 nationally in both kills and points per set.
