Men’s Volleyball Falls to Arcadia in Home Opener

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University men’s volleyball team hosted Arcadia University on Saturday afternoon in their home opener, falling 3-0.

Brandon Lieberman led Immaculata with five kills, and three digs. Joe Martel handed out nine assists, had two service aces, and three digs. Matthew Pfister led Immaculata defensively with eight digs. Evan Timlin, Brandon Fox, and Jack Debes each had one block.

In the first set, Immaculata exchanged points early with Arcadia, and trailed 6-5. Arcadia would use a 7-1 run to take a 13-6 lead. Brandon Fox served consecutive points including a service ace to close the score to 13-9. Arcadia responded with a six-point run on their way to winning the first set 25-11.

In set two, Arcadia jumped out to an early 5-2 lead. Immaculata fought their way back and closed Arcadia’s lead to 7-6 on a block by Brandon Fox. Arcadia would use a four-point run on their way to taking set two 25-15.

In set three, Immaculata got kills from Brandon Lieberman and Brandon Fox, and a service ace from Ethan Ngo, but they were unable slow down Arcadia, who went on to win set three 25-17, and the match 3-0.

Up Next:

The Immaculata University men’s volleyball team (2-2) will be back in action on Saturday, February 3rd when they will travel to Arlington, VA for a tri-match with Roanoke College and the host Marymount University. Immaculata will play Roanoke at 3:00 PM, and Marymount at 5:00 PM.
