Duru Gökçen: “It was my dream to study and play volleyball in United States for college. Playing volleyball at this level in a competitive conference like the Big Ten and at the same time studying at a school with such great academics was beyond my dreams. I would like to thank my coaches who gave me this opportunity. I am very happy and excited to play for this team and be a part of the Terp family. Go Terps!”

Head coach Adam Hughes: “We are thrilled to welcome Duru to our Terp family. She brings a wealth of international experience competing for one of the top clubs in Turkey. In getting to know Duru through the recruiting process, it was clear that she was not only an exceptional player but a person with great character and one that we wanted to join our program. I was thrilled to get the call that Duru was committing to be a Terp, and we look forward to taking the next steps in getting her to College Park!”
