DURHAM, N.C. – For the second consecutive year, the Duke volleyball team is partnering with NC Central volleyball for the “Battle for Bull City”, a fundraiser to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Durham and Orange Counties.
The Blue Devils will make the short trip to NC Central’s campus for an exhibition match on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 6 p.m. As part of the “Battle for Bull City”, both programs are currently competing in a fundraising initiative to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Durham and Orange Counties. Whichever program has the most contributions at the end of Aug. 31 wins bragging rights.
Fans are encouraged to make a gift of any size to help support this important initiative.
Duke competed on NC Central’s campus last season and marked the first time a Duke team competed on its campus since the 1970s.
“We just love getting people who are achieving their dreams into our club space,” said Boys & Girls Club Director of Resource Development Andrew Borresen. “Our youth can’t bump up against enough positive role models, especially at that next step for our teens thinking about that transition to college. We celebrate every partnership we can build out with Duke University, Duke Athletics and with NC Central and NCCU athletics.”
Duke will officially kick off the 2024 season Aug. 30 against Colgate in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
