GREELEY, Colo. – Arizona won its exhibition match against Northern Colorado, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats dropped the first set, 19-25, before winning the next three sets, 25-19, 25-20, 25-21.
Junior Jordan Wilson led the pins with 15 kills and a .314 clip while serving five aces. Jaelyn Hodge and Alayna Johnson each recorded eight kills during the match. Freshman Carlie Cisneros totaled seven kills. Freshman Avery Scoggins recorded 22 assists and returning junior Ana Heath had 11 assists.
Defensively, transfer Kiari Robey led the team with five blocks – one solo and four block assists. Johnson and Wilson had four block assists each to help the Wildcats out-block the Bears 10.0-4.0. Cisneros led Arizona with nine digs and also had one solo block.
The Wildcats open the 2024 season with the Cactus Classic August 30-September 1 in McKale Center. Arizona’s first match of the season is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 30 against Boise State at 6 p.m. MST.
