AVCA 2024 preseason poll: Unanimously Juniata

Burns promoted from assistant to head coach at Rockford

Two-time defending champion Juniata received all 86 first-place votes and tops the 2024 AVCA preseason poll. No surprise there as the Eagles, winners of 62 consecutive matches, bring back most of their roster.

Following the champs are 2023 runner-up Hope in second, semifinalist Claremont-Mudd-Scripps third, and quarterfinalists Johns Hopkins and Wisconsin-Oshkosh in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Rounding out the preseason top 10 are No. 6 NYU, No. 7 Northwestern, No. 8 Trinity (Texas), No. 9 Emory and Wisconsin-Whitewater. The 2023 Elite Eight begins 2024 as the first eight teams in the poll.

Other Region VIII and Region IX programs in the 2024 preseason poll: No. 11 Transylvania; No. 16 Gustavus Adolphus; No. 17 Washington-St. Louis; No. 20 North Park; No. 21 Wisconsin-Stevens Point; No. 23 Cornell; No. 24 Mount St. Joseph.

Region VIII/IX teams also receiving votes in the preseason: Millikin; Coe; Wisconsin-Platteville; Illinois Wesleyan.
