OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Lewis men’s volleyball sophomore Quin Zilch (Media, Penn./The Shipley School) was selected to compete in the 2024 US Men’s Beach Collegiate Challenge that will take place on the campus of Stevenson University in Owings Mills, MD from September 13-15.
“This weekend I am competing in the 2024 USA Men’s Beach Collegiate Challenge, which is a beach tournament for NCAA Men’s volleyball players,” Zilch said. “This opportunity is so special to me because it promotes growth of the game of beach volleyball. There is no official NCAA Men’s Beach Volleyball, so this is a chance for athletes like myself to showcase the sport! Another reason I am so excited is because I get to represent my school. The Lewis Mens Volleyball program means so much to me, and I cannot wait to showcase it this weekend!”
During the challenge, every athlete will have the opportunity to be scouted through the Beach National Team Development Program (NTDP) Scouting Network. Points earned from this event will go toward future USA Volleyball events, including but not limited to the 2025 USA Volleyball U21 Beach National Team Trials and other events. These collegiate events will be used for consideration for selection or to determine members of a national team.
“We are excited and proud to have Quin represent Lewis to compete this weekend in the 2024 Men’s Beach Collegiate Challenge,” Friend said. “Quin has been involved with USA Beach for the past few years and has a great passion and high skill level for the game. We know he will represent us at a high level and look forward to a great event for him and his teammate.”
