Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, September 24, 2024 – Kazakhstan’s Kuanysh VC kept an unblemished record in Pool A after sweeping Hong Kong, China’s Kwai Tsing 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-18) to wrap up the preliminary round of the 2024 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship.

Tuesday evening’s victory at the Chartchai Hall now brings the 2022 champions to a much favored position, going into the quarterfinals against the lowest-ranked team in Pool B.

Zhanna Syroyeshkina (20 points) and Anastasiya Kudryashova (18 points) delivered double-digit markers to seal the Kazakh club’s third straight win in the competition.

Kuanysh VC stepped onto the court with a different set of starters for the match, showing that they have a full roster of completely reliable players. Syroyeshkina and Kudryashova comprised the tall frontline, delivering on both attack and block.

The club from Hong Kong, China looked absolutely patient in fighting for each ball to recycle. They knew they played with a smaller line-up and relied on how consistently they could keep the ball alive. They held the opponents from keeping the scoring gap wide open in the opening set.

Kwai Tsing slid into a decent lead in the second set protected their advantage. They continued to work hard in defense to power their counterattack. Shum Lam and Chan Pui Shan powered the offense. They starred in their own narrative where the smaller team outplays the tall and the strong. Later, they committed a string of errors , to give the momentum back to the Kazakh club .

Kuanysh VC ensured to keep their momentum and their spirits at high level by the third set. They continued to run their plays on their main hitters to help secure the straight-sets win.
