Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, September 26, 2024 – LPBank Ninh Binh looked steady and solid in their straight-sets victory, 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-18) against Duc Giang Chemical during the Vietnam derby in Thursday’s quarterfinal meet of the 2024 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship at Chartchai Hall.
Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, who stands out as one of the scoring leaders in the competition, gave another stellar performance with a total of 25 points.
LPBank Ninh Binh played more steadily, going for high-percentage attempts on attack. Captain Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen and Thai rising star Warisara Seetaloed led the charge in scoring, and also benefited much from a hardworking backcourt during transition plays.
Duc Giang Chemical’s Tran Thi Bich Thuy and Ly Thi Luyen posted well at the middle, with Elena Samoilenko attacking from the flank. They lacked, however, the quality of floor defense that their opponents were showing consistently.
LPBank Ninh Binh continued to run their tight offense, capitalizing on their prolific captain. They imposed pressure in service, making it extra difficult for their opponents to pass the ball.
While Duc Giang Chemical were trying to devise ways to defend, they were unable to consistently keep their tempo. They would often go into scoring spurts, then fall into miscues.
Meanwhile, LPBank Ninh Binh looked poised enough and maintained their momentum to complete a straight-sets win and a confirmed semifinals berth.
