LPBANK NINH BINH KNOCK KUANYSH VC OUT OF ASIAN CLUB CHAMPSHIP FINALE

Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, September 27, 2024 – Vietnam’s LPBank Ninh Binh took the second finale slot of the 2024 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship after defeating Kazakhstan’s Kuanysh VC 3-1 (25-23, 27-25, 18-25, 25-22).

Friday evening’s victory at the Chartchai Hall likewise qualifies the Vietnam club as one of two AVC teams to compete in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship to be hosted by China in December 2024.

Captain Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen posted a total of 35 points, the highest ever tallied in the competition.

The opening set saw a closely fought battle, with teams able to operate along the same pace with the other. It was evident that the teams were nearly balanced in skill and strategy, given the exchange of points.

Kuanysh VC started their dependable hitters Yulia Dymar and Sana Anarkulova who contributed in attack and also delivered as part of the passing unit.

Meanwhile, LPBank Ning Binh relied on captain Tuyen and Thai rising star Warisara Seetaloed as the main scorers, just like in previous matches.

As the scoreboard relayed very similar-looking statistics, it was a matter of keeping steady in the closing plays, with the Vietnam club taking the first set.

It was nearly the same narrative in the second set, with neither team grabbing a stable lead.

Kuanysh VC worked their way into surmounting the narrow lead, with Dymar and Anarkulova taking turns in scoring. They were also keeping a close eye on their opponents’ nearly unstoppable attacks.

LPBank Ninh Binh worked their way to close out the second set with clutch plays from Warisara, who proved to be a real warrior at the left side.

The tables were turned by the third set with Kuanysh VC dictating the tempo of play. They established a sizable lead, as their hitters continued to work the wings. They also handled their transitions much better and devised ways to improve the block formation.

By the fourth set, the Kazakh club looked to do a repeat of their earlier success, trying to gain advantage early on.

The Vietnam club worked their way slowly, but surely in closing the gap, and eventually closing out the match in their favor.

On Sunday, September 29, LPBank Ninh Binh will meet Japan’s NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki in the title match scheduled at 16:00, while Kuanysh VC will play against home team Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC in the battle for bronze at 13:00. All times local.
