DUC GIANG CHEMICAL, SAIPA CLUB REGISTER WINS FOR BEST FINISH IN 2024 ASIAN CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 

Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, September 28, 2024 – The club teams from Vietnam and Iran triumphed on Saturday afternoon to complete their bid in the 2024 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship at Chartchai Hall.

In their maiden outing in the competition’s history, Duc Giang Chemical finished fifth place after beating the Philippines’ Monolith Sky Risers in straight sets, 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-10). They dominated the match in all scoring fronts, including 15 stuff blocks which spelled the difference in the Vietnam club’s victory. 

Earlier, Iran’s Saipa Club took the 7th place after a sweep of Hong Kong, China’s Kwai Tsing, 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-17). Mahtab Rahmani was the top scorer of the match, contributing 18 points in the straight-sets victory. 

The medal matches are scheduled on Sunday, September 29, with Kuanysh VC (KAZ) and hosts Nakhon Ratchasima QminC (THA) meeting in the battle for bronze at 13:00. The title match will see LPBank Ninh Binh (VIE) playing against NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki (JPN) scheduled at 16:00. All times local. 

As early as Friday, during the semifinals,  LPBank Ninh Binh and NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki have confirmed their slots in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship, to be held in China from December 16-22,  2024.
