Cyr Earns Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week Honor

IRVING, Texas – Senior outside hitter Geli Cyr is the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week after a stellar performance in both matches last week, including a career-high in kills in No. 15 Sun Devil Volleyball’s win at No. 22 TCU.

This is the second Big 12 Player of the Week nod for Arizona State this season after Mary Shroll was the defensive player of the week on September 17. For Cyr, this is her second conference weekly award in her career. She was the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week once back in 2021.

Cyr has been on fire recently. She had a career-high 18 kills in the team’s first Big 12 win at No. 22 TCU, ASU’s first ranked win of the year. Her 18 kills are the most by a Sun Devil in a match this season. She followed that up with her first double-double of the year at now-No. 14 Baylor, leading all players with 17 kills, just one away from her new career high, and adding 12 digs. She has had double-digit kills in four matches in a row.

Arizona State is home this week, hosting Utah on Wednesday in Mullett Arena and No. 20 BYU on Friday in Desert Financial Arena.
