Svendby, Kelley Named PNC Achievers of the Week

PITTSBURGH – Men’s Soccer Casper Svendby and Volleyball’s Bre Kelley were named this week’s PNC Achievers of the Week.

Junior defender Casper Svendby anchored Pitt’s defense to a 2-0 victory at No. 17 Virginia Tech Saturday evening. The Panthers’ back line held the Hokies to a season-low three shots on goal en route to their third-consecutive clean sheet. Svendby, a product of Drammen, Norway, also recorded an assist Saturday, marking his third in as many matches. Of note, Pitt has gone 275 minutes and 34 seconds of action without allowing a goal, dating back to the second half against Louisville (Sept. 13).

Redshirt Junior Middle Blocker Bre Kelley had a week of dominate performances including notching four kills on four sets against UMBC, recording four kills and hitting .571 with a season-high seven blocks against Clemson, and registering four kills on six swings in the sweep against No. 13 Georgia Tech.
