The lone upset in NCAA Division I volleyball Sunday was by South Carolina, which not only won its SEC match at Florida, it swept the No. 19 Gators. It marked the first time that South Carolina won at Florida since 1986.

Among the other Sunday results, No. 11 Oregon had to go five to win its Big Ten match against No. 24 Washington and No. 16 USC had to do the same to beat UCLA.

There were, of course, reverse sweeps in this season of the reverse sweeps, as Wichita State did it to visiting Florida Atlantic in the American Athletic Conference and Davidson won a wild one at George Washington in the Atlantic 10 22-25, 20-25, 25-15, 31-29, 15-4.

Bucknell had won 15 in a row, but that streak ended when Colgate won their Patriot League match in four.

Lines of the day: Binghamton got swept in its America East match at New Hampshire but Tsvetelina Ilieva had 25 kills, six aces, nine digs and two blocks and Jill Pressly had 26 kills for DePaul in its four-set Big East win at Seton Hall, hitting .386, to go with three assists, 16 digs and a block.

And Hampton, which won a set for the first time in nine matches, lost in four to UNC Wilmington to fall to 0-19, 0-8 in the CAA.

The new VolleyballMag Super 16 Media Poll comes out later Monday morning and the AVCA top 25 will be announced in the afternoon. Also Monday, ESPN and Big Ten Network analyst Emily Ehman and VolleyballMag editor Lee Feinswog will have their weekly NCAA Zoom.

There are eight matches on the Monday schedule, five in the SWAC, including league-leading Florida A&M (14-5 and, at 6-0, the only team unbeaten in conference play) vs. Alcorn.

The two teams atop the Missouri Valley Conference square off when Drake (10-7, 6-0) goes to Northern Iowa (11-7, 6-0). Also in the Valley, Illinois State is at Bradley.

Seattle U plays Utah Valley in the WAC.

Also in this edition of Volleyball Today are the results of Sunday’s two Athletes Unlimited matches. The last matches of the second week are Monday night.
