Kamryn Gibadlo Named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week


IRVING, Texas — Utah Volleyball’s own Kamryn Gibadlo has earned the first Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors for the program since joining the new conference and the first weekly award of her career. Over the weekend, Gibadlo helped the Utes secure a pair of top 20 sweeps, defeating #17 TCU and #18 Baylor. 
 
Gibadlo led the Utah attack for the sixth consecutive match on Saturday against Baylor, finishing with 11 kills. The outside hitter put down double-digit kills for the 11th and 12th time this season, as Gibadlo posted a .309 hitting percentage through two matches, finishing with 24 total kills with just seven errors on 55 swings. She tallied 13 kills against the Horned Frogs to get the weekend started, closing out the weekend against Baylor with 11 kills. Gibadlo recorded three aces in the match against Baylor, finishing the weekend with four.
 
On the season, Gibadlo has put away 198 total kills, averaging 3.41 kills per set, leading the team in both categories. She also leads the Utah serving effort with a team-high 22 aces.

Utah will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 19, staying in-state to begin a three-game road slate, traveling to #24 BYU for a 7 p.m. MT match.
