PITTSBURGH – Volleyball’s Olivia Babcock and Wrestling’s Anthony Santaniello were named PNC Achievers of the Week following a pair of strong performances.
Olivia Babcock averaged 6.25 points, per set, 4.67 kills per set, 2.67 digs pet, 1.17 blocks per set, and 1.00 aces per set over the weekend. She registered 11 kills, eight digs, five blocks, three aces and an assist in the three-set sweep over Wake Forest and followed that up with a match-high 17 kills, eight digs, three aces, two blocks and two assists, hitting .577 in the sweep over NC State.
Anthony Santaniello was a spark for the Panthers in their 21-12 win over No. 18 Lehigh at the Fitzgerald Field House on Sunday. After Pitt dropped the first two matches of the dual, Santaniello got the Panthers going with a 4-1 victory over No. 19 Malyke Hines at 141. Pitt went on to win four of the next five bouts en route to defeating Lehigh for the third consecutive season.
