Florida Volleyball Earns Sixth Seed in NCAA Tournament


The Gators will travel to Lawrence, Kansas for the First & Second Rounds on Dec. 6 & 7.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida volleyball team earned the sixth seed of the lower left region of the bracket and will and will travel to Lawrence, Kansas for the First & Second Rounds of the NCAA Tournament, as the Division I Women’s Volleyball Selection Committee revealed the 64-team field during an ESPN television broadcast.

The Gators will play NC State on Friday, Dec. 6 at 5:00 p.m. ET. No. 3 Kansas and Colgate make up the remainder of the bracket and will play at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday night.

The winner of Florida vs. NC State will face the winner of Kansas vs. Colgate on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. ET.

With the selection, Florida extends its streak to 34-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, the third-longest active streak in the nation (Penn State – 44, Nebraska – 43). Last season, the Gators advanced to the Second Round for the 34th time in program history and fell to Georgia Tech in five sets.

Florida finished the regular season with a 21-7 record, while finishing third overall in SEC play with an 11-5 record. The Gators carry an 82-34 record in the NCAA Tournament, including 82-33 under Mary Wise.
