CLEMSON, S.C. – Freshman pin attacker Neea-Maria Joki earned 2024 All-ACC honors, the conference office announced Monday. Joki was an ACC All-Freshman selection, the first for the Tigers since 2022, and became the 25th Clemson volleyball player to garner All-Freshman honors dating back to 1993. Her honor is also the fourth All-ACC or ACC All-Freshman accolade to be award to a player under Clemson Head Coach Jackie Simpson Kirr.
Joki (Tampere, Finland) becomes the first freshman to make the All-Freshman team since fellow team Mia McGrath was named to the team during the 2022 season. Joki appeared in all 31 matches this season and started in 20. She finished with 223 kills, the third most by a Tiger in 2024, and a 2.14 kill per set average to contribute to her 292.5 points (2.81 pts/s). Defensively, she clocked 12 solo blocks and 61 block assists, while also adding 118 digs (1.13 d/s). Joki’s freshman campaign was also highlighted by leading the Tigers with 27 aces, including three against Virginia Tech and two at No. 4 Louisville. She was crowned the ACC Freshman of the Week on Sept. 16. The Tampere, Finland native ended her freshman campaign with double-digit kills in 10 matches, including 10 against No. 23 Florida State, No. 25 North Carolina and vs. Wake Forest.
