IOC and Paris 2024 Organising Committee celebrate International Federations’ contributions to record-breaking Games
The FIVB leadership were honoured with an Olympic Games Paris 2024 torch and commemorative medals during the International Federation (IF) Transition Seminar for LA28, held this week at Olympic House and the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The prestigious gifts were presented by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Paris 2024 to all IFs as a gesture of gratitude for their important contributions to the success of the Olympic Games. The recognition celebrated the collaboration and dedication that helped deliver a record-breaking edition of the Games, which engaged over 5 billion people globally.
Reflecting on the success of Paris 2024, FIVB President Fabio Azevedo said:
“The Olympic Games in Paris were a fantastic celebration of volleyball, beach volleyball and the Olympic Movement as a whole. It was an extraordinary summer that brought the world together in the spirit of sport and unity. As we reflect on these incredible achievements, the FIVB remains committed to spreading the Olympic values globally and bringing people together through volleyball.”
The Transition Seminar provided an opportunity for members of the Olympic Family to reflect on the accomplishments of Paris 2024 and set the stage for another chapter of Olympic history in LA.
