NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt volleyball will kick off its inaugural season in conjunction with the start of the 2025 NCAA volleyball season at the AVCA First Serve Showcase at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Aug. 22–24. The Commodores were one of 10 teams invited to play in the event.
“We are honored to have Vanderbilt’s very first serve in 45 years take place at the AVCA First Serve event,” head coach Anders Nelson said. “Competing in Lincoln, Nebraska, in front of a national audience against a consistently successful program is an incredible opportunity. There’s no better way for Team 1 to begin our journey.”
Vandy will face Kansas (25-5, 15-3 Big 12 in 2024) on Aug. 23. The Jayhawks ended the 2024 season ranked 12th in the nation having advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Leading up to First Serve, the Commodores will play Tennessee on March 7 at Brentwood High School, Louisville on March 28 in the Elizabethtown, Kentucky, area, at Lipscomb on April 4 and versus Purdue at a neutral site in the Indianapolis area on April 12 in four off-campus spring exhibition matches.
