Hoosiers Tumble Against No. 5 Wisconsin, 3-0


MADISON, Wisc. – Indiana Volleyball (10-22, 4-16 Big Ten) concluded the season with a match at No. 5 Wisconsin (25-3, 17-3 Big Ten) where the Hoosiers fell, 3-0 (14-25, 9-25, 15-25).
 
KEY MOMENTS
• A solo block by Savannah Kjolhede and a kill from Kari Zumach in the gave Indiana the first two points of the first set. An ace by Camryn Haworth was followed by a slam from Breana Edwards to tie the game at 5-5.
• Down by one, Paula Cerame’s ace and Morgan Geddes’ kill gave the Hoosiers its first lead, 9-8. Wisconsin put up a quick six points to force Indiana to call timeout as the Badgers were out to a 15-10 lead.
• A kill from Edwards and two straight attacking errors by Wisconsin gave the Hoosiers some life but it wasn’t enough as they tumbled in the first set, 25-14.
• After going down 6-1 to begin the second set, Indiana bounced back with kills from Edwards and Cerame. They made a three point game on a slam from Kjolhede.
• The Badgers went on a tear and took the second set, 25-9.
•  A kill by Geddes kicked off the third set of action which was followed by a set error by Wisconsin and a kill from Edwards.
• A slam by Geddes and Kjolhede gave Indiana the 6-5 lead early in the game. The Hoosiers saw a solo block and kill from Kaley Rammelsberg, but the Badgers put up five points to force Indiana to take a timeout.
• Kills from Geddes, Zumach, and Rammelsberg sparked the Indiana offense, but Wisconsin rolled to the 25-15 set three win.
 
NOTABLES
• Sophomore outside hitter Morgan Geddes had a hitting percentage of .500 on five kills.
• Freshman setter Camryn Haworth had nine assists while graduate student Brooke Westbeld had eight.
• Junior defensive specialist Paula Cerame put up a team-leading two aces.
• Senior outside hitter Breana Edwards and Haworth served up an ace each.
