COLLEGE PARK, MD – USA Volleyball named Maryland volleyball assistant coach Becca Acevedo to an assistant coaching position for the U15-17 National Team Development Program (NTDP) this weekend in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The program begins on Thursday and will run until Monday.
Acevedo brings an abundance of coaching experience with USA Volleyball to the position. Since 2016, the Maryland assistant has worked within the USA Volleyball High Performance Pipeline, and she has previously served on staff with the NTDP in 2021 in Anaheim, CA.
Maryland’s coaching staff has a strong background with the NTDP. Acevedo, along with head coach Adam Hughes and director of operations Kyle Thompson hosted a NTDP Camp in Washington D.C. this past May. Thompson was also named team lead for the U19 National Team in June.
The NTDP launched in 2021 with the mission of identifying, recruiting and accelerating the development of high-potential junior volleyball players who have the promise to achieve success at the international level. Athletes are selected for the NTDP Training Series and competition through nationwide scouting through high school and club tournaments across the country.
